The Pu'eropoly Project: The Board
So, Andrew said this earlier today:

That was...about 4 hours ago. We are now here:
The Board:
The board is now taking shape around one main idea: the properties are not named cakes, factories, or brands. They are origins — regions, mountains, villages, and famous single-origin areas — arranged mostly from broader, cheaper regions into more pinpoint, prestige-heavy origins as the board progresses.
We're gonna take this:

(Very...very roughly...ai, you know how it is) - To this:

The rough zoom pattern is:
Early board = broader regions
Middle board = mountains and known origin zones
Late board = famous villages / prestige single-origins
Endgame = absurd market-crown origins

To no one's surprise but some folks chagrin, the crap regions are in brown and light blue as the cheap spaces at the bottom of the board. I made the executive decision (I'm the only one doing this and I don't know har far I'll get) to go ahead and call the "upper middle class" spaces in red and yellow the six famous tea mountains (or 6FM for short, most people reading this probably would have known that and I could've saved us all time but I thought I should spell it out so now with this sentence I've actually managed to cost all of us more time - you're welcome).
Once the cheapies, the 6FM (I abbreviated that time see), and the bougie dark blues (R.I.P. in chat for Mansong which lost the vote for Park Place to Bingdao) were all figured out; the rest filled in fairly quick.
Trade Routes
The railroad-equivalent spaces are historical tea/trade routes rather than modern railroads.
- Tea Horse Road
- Yunnan–Tibet Route
- Sichuan–Tibet Route
- Southern Silk Road
Storage Systems
The utility-equivalent spaces are storage/control systems. No one cares but the westerners, but no one will play this mythical project but the westerners, so...works out.
- Humidity Control
- Temperature Control
Non-Property Spaces
The start and Go space is:
- Spring Harvest
The card decks are:
- Market (Chance)
- Tea Table (Community Chest)
The tax spaces are:
- Gushu Tax — pay 200 (We all know this is the higher one...)
- Import Duties — pay 100
The jail-equivalent spaces are:
- Customs Hold (Just visiting will be checking shipping)
- Seized by Customs (Go to jail)
The free-parking equivalent is:
- Samples (Cause we all know what it's like to have a mountain of samples build)
